NaNoWriMo this year was harder than last
Probably because I didn’t start until 11/14.  So I pretty much wrote 50K words in 2 weeks.  While doing term papers and work and homework and going out to way too many happy hours. My wrists hurt.  That has nothing to do with the happy hours. Regardless, this year has been a thousand times more fun because my baby sister and I did it together.  I would have given up last week if she...

I was going to post Alice's Restaurant

News first broke that Williams & Graham would plant a 1920s-themed bar in a bookstore at the edge of Highland back in April, and Todd Colehour, former executive at Kona Grill, and Sean Kenyon, Squeaky Bean and Euclid Hall barman and Westword’s “Ask the Bartender” contributor, had planned to start slinging drinks in June of this year. Construction and liquor license delays,...

Midterms are done, vacation has started
Sporadic picture spam may occur… …especially if I get any good ones at tomorrow’s concert.  Or of Guy Fawkes Night.

One of the best perks about my office is a constant supply of coffee and tea.  It’s not a huge or lavish perk, but it’s more wonderful than you think.  I mean, do you have any comprehension how much peppermint tea I go through in a week?  Let’s just say a lot.  So imagine my dismay when I walk into the kitchen this morning to find we’re completely out.  I checked every...

I just received an email from Lisel.  No subject, just a single line of text: “What is one supposed to wear to a Super Diamond concert?”

I keep messing with his algorithm.  He’s all about the westerns, documentaries, Indian film, and The Office.  I’m all about Doctor Who, kids’ movies, British television, and science fiction.  Our recommendations cover a wide spectrum.    Occasionally we cross over, though.  Like when we discovered Super Troopers has come to instant streaming.  That was a big score.
